Formal Title: An act concerning accessory dwelling units, supplementing and amending P.L.1975, c.291, and amending P.L.1985, c.222.

Summary: Allows accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on lots with single-family homes, excluding common interest community dwellings. Prohibits municipalities from imposing restrictive conditions such as passageways, external doors, additional parking, familial relationships, or utility separations for ADUs. Sets maximum size at 1,200 square feet and allows ADUs to count towards affordable housing obligations.
